Verteron was a coastal region located alongside the northern shore of Elysea's main continent. It was the second region Elyos characters would originally explore, and oversaw player progress between levels 10 and 20.
After their ascension players were dispatched to this region as part of their Daeva training, and would gradually be acquainted with more of game's aspects as they continued to hone their skills. Players would run their first instance, be introduced to the flight system, and periodically team up to fight their first elite monsters.
In the 6.0 update this region was removed from the game. Heiron has since taken over Verteron's role.

Verteron is a region with a rich history. In its early days it was home to Zumion, the first and most glorious temple in all of Atreia. So peerless was its beauty, it was said to have been built by Aion himself, and all who lived in ancient Atreia would embark on a journey of pilgrimage to worship their creator at this most holy of grounds.
The book Fall of the Zumion Ruins describes the fall of Zumion shortly after the Balaur rose against their creator. But even a thousand years after its destruction the temple's legacy continues to lives on, and to this day continues to inspire many humans to undertake a journey of pilgrimage to the remainders of Verteron's glorious shrines. The pilgrims need protection however, which combined with the notable presence of the Tursin Krall and the Lepharists in the region has left the local Guardians hard-pressed for aid.
Verteron is also the region where the first rift was discovered. Verteron Citadel, a fortress at the center of the area, was constructed to defend what would come to be known as the first Abyss Gate. This was the very same Abyss Gate from which Deltras and the Storm Legion marched onto the Abyss and, eventually, Asmodae.
