Taros Lifebane

Taros Lifebane is a boss in the Temple of Eternity Entrance in the Beshmundir Temple. Although with only one offensive skill, his buffs make this a very challenging encounter. Players are required to take it down in order to advance further into The Courtyard of Eternity.

History[]

Raised by his mother, Taros lived as a honoured member of his village due to its strength in mind and body. As a young man, he once attempted saving a girl hanging from a branch on a canyon's wall. As he tried extending his hand to her, they both fell down. Thought to be his end, the villagers were amazed as he soared carrying the girl back on land. That life menacing experience made him ascend.

As he rolled in to the fight against the Balaur throughout Atreia, he was easily ascended to higher ranks due to his success in the tasks he was sent to. Eventually, he was entrusted to form part of Siel's Spear Legion, a legion right under the orders of Lady Siel to perform missions in Balaurea.

In one of the battles against against the Balaur, Tiamat herself appeared, slaying Taro's comrades with ease. The Dragon Lord recognised the hero from the tales of his battles, therefore made a deal with him. If he acceded on him being cursed, following her will without doubt, she would resurrect his comrades and let them leave the battlefield. Taros accepted it without hesitating. As their comrades woke up, they could not find Taros anymore. That battle being the last time he was seen.

Long after this event, he awaits in the Beshmundir Temple, guarding the way to the room where Stormwing's seal is, to be freed by whoever slays him, freeing him from his curse.

Strategy[]

If this boss is moved too much, he might reset, making it crucial to stay in close distance to him. Damage dealers play and important role in here, as this encounter must end before the players are overwhelmed by his strong damage.

In Normal Mode, he will use his special attack and auto-attacks during most of the fight. Nearing 10% of HP, he will apply the Frantic <Frantic> buff on him drastically increasing his attack speed. It can be dispelled by those classes with the appropriate skills. However, in Hard Mode, Taros will have Frantic <Frantic> as well as Explosion of Wrath <Explosion of Wrath>, increasing the damage he deals. Unlike Frantic, Explosion of Wrath cannot be removed.

If the group manages to take him down on time, his spirit will thank the players, leaving behind the key able to open the door to the Courtyard of Eternity, the last section of the instance.
