- Talk with <Axelion>.
- Collect Wall Fragments and bring them to Axelion.
- Restore the Flower Wall.
- Restore the Lightning Wall.
- Restore the Wave Wall.
- Restore the Wind Wall.
- Restore the Fire Wall.
- Report to Castor.
Basic Reward[]
- 874,235 XP
- 94,010 Kinah
- <Silver Coin Chest>
Optional Reward[]
Walkthrough[]
After talking to Castor, there are two options to get the Wall Fragments. The easiest is to do <The Shugo Menace> [30] which rewards all four (and Castor supplies the Flower Wall Fragment when those four are collected). The other way is to fight elite mobs inside Eracus Temple Cavern and get the Wall Fragments as drops.
Dialogue[]
Initial Dialogue[]
- Castor
- "One of the Golden Bough Legion's main objectives here in Eltnen is to explore the Eracus Temple Cavern.
- It is still a mystery how our ancestors managed to build such an enormous temple underground.
- And we're uncertain about its purpose: which Seraphim Lord--oh, Empyrean Lord, I mean--it was dedicated to."
- "Exploring, eh?"
- "Because it's so old, much of the Eracus Temple Cavern has disintegrated.
- Axelion here is in charge of the restoration effort. If all goes well, we'll learn a lot about our ancient ancestors.
- But Eltnen is a dangerous place, and our ranks are already depleted. Talk to Axelion if you want work--I'm sure he can use capable hands."
- "Faith and arms!"
Intermediate Dialogue[]
- Axelion
- "I told Brigade General Castor I needed quality help. And if you're here, [Player Name], then Castor delivered.
- I need your help uncovering a few secrets.
- There are several walls in the Eracus Temple Cavern that have various patterns on them. But they're so heavily damaged that I can't determine their original meaning.
- If we can somehow restore the walls, I would be able to examine the engravings and perhaps work out which Empyrean Lord the temple was constructed for."
- "How do we do that?"
- (Cutscene)
- "There are six spiral towers of different heights in the Eracus Temple Cavern. In the center is the highest and largest tower, and the remaining five towers are arranged in a circle around it.
- Each of the five smaller towers are patterned with unique engravings. The walls are badly damaged, but the fragments that should be lying nearby are nowhere to be found.
- My current theory is that the indigenous creatures nearby took away the pieces we need."
- "What creatures?"
- "I don't know which animals--I'm an archaeologist, not a biologist, blast it! Just kill anything there and take back the Wall Fragments.
- I already found the piece that fits the Flower Wall--the first spiral tower.
- So if you find the fragments of the walls in the remaining four towers, we can read what our ancestors wrote there."
- "Find the fragments...got it."
- "Did you find the Wall Fragments that broke off the spiral towers? It can't have been easy...
- If you brought the fragments, give them to me."
- "Here are the Wall Fragments."
Failed Item Check[]
- I asked you to find the wall fragments. Where have you been?
- I know that you probably have missions to save people's lives or stop the encroaching desert. But think of what we'll learn about our ancestors!
- Go and find the Wall Fragments, [Player Name]."
- "I'm already gone!"
Successful Item Check[]
- "We have all the Wall Fragments! Now all we have to do is to restore the walls.
- Take this. It's a box containing all the fragments, both the one that I had and the ones that you recovered, [Player Name].
- Please restore the walls of all five spiral towers with these fragments. But there's a trick..."
- "A trick?"
- "Yeah, you have to restore them in a specific order: First, restore the Flower Wall, then go to the other walls in this order: Lightning, Wave, Wind, and Fire.
- The damaged sections are all on the upper sections of the towers. They're all slightly darker than the other panels, so should be easy enough to see.
- When you're all done, report to Brigade General Castor."
- "Light guide me!"
- (cutscene)
Reward Dialogue[]
- Castor
- "Ah, I heard you were able to fully restore the five walls!
- This is excellent news! Axelion and I had no doubt you would succeed.
- Now, report in detail what happened."
- "To restore the walls, I..."
- "And at the end of it all, you heard "Sepi mal, Kahrun, Ell mal Arch bin..." Something like that?
- That is the ancient Atreian language, from before the Cataclysm. I can understand "birthday," "playground," and nothing else. Kahrun, though...The grammar suggests a name.
- Wait...the Eracus Temple Cavern wasn't a temple at all, but a playground for a child named Kahrun? What kind of Daeva could make an immense, secret playground for their kid? Outrageous!"
Summary[]
Castor said that the Golden Bough Legion is investigating the secrets of the Eracus Temple Cavern, and he told you to go to Axelion for a special mission.
You restored the walls of the spiral towers in the temple as Axelion asked, and saw a message to a child called Kahrun.
When you reported this to Castor, he deduced that the Eracus Temple Cavern wasn't actually a temple but an ancient playground.
