Remains of a petralith in Reshanta
The term Petralith refers to an entity whose body is mostly made of stone and of great size. While being alive, they lack any conciousness, and instead have to follow the will of either their creator or whoever activated them.
Being mechanical beings, due to their immense size and impenetrable armour, they are in possession of a great power. Feared and acclaimed by sapiens and Daevas alike.
Origin[]
Their beginnings differ from example to example. Some cases are completely shadowed due to their ancient age. Certain Reians tell how these beings were built originally by Aion to serve him in favour of his security, rightfully owning the titles of Protectors of Aion. Meanwhile, sapiens like Calydons show how much they fear their might; as their culture teaches them to praise them as deities.
Other cases, like the Hyperions, have been widespread more easily. While lower in size, they would match up with the other petraliths in power. They were built by the Danuar to repel the Balaur forces from Katalam. However, due to lack of time, they were not deployed, causing the extinction of the race. Wishing to prevent other people from experiencing the sheer power of their creations in the hands of the Balaur, they destroyed their precious weapons, leaving only remains.
