Levinshor

Map of Levinshor. Note the different color circles around the bases.

Levinshor (AkaronKR/EU), commonly dubbed the "Gateway to Balaurea" was an optional region introduced with the 4.7 update. On this map level 65 players could capture mini-outposts known as bases to unlock weekly quests that awarded Blood Mark <Blood Marks>, providing an additional source compared to Katalam and Danaria. This region also contains access points to several instances that were moved over from the aforementioned regions.

The map derived its nickname from the numerous portals it contained leading to other regions of Balaurea, including Inggison, Gelkmaros, Reshanta and even the Idian Depths.

In the 6.0 update this map was removed from the game.

Accessing Levinshor[]

Lay of the Land[]

Levinshor.7 Soundtrack - Tidewash Cove

The beautiful, lush lands of Levinshor are littered with mountain ranges and other rugged landscape, but managed to retain its visually appealing status and boasts an outstanding soundtrack, making it an instant favorite of many players upon its release. Elyos characters start at the Lumewillow Glade Scout Base at the top left of the map, while the Asmodians will find themselves at the Pinnacle Cataract Outpost in the bottom right corner.

As with Kaldor, the starting areas of both races are separated from rest of the map and are thus one-way travel: once you jump off, you can't get back on. These areas were meant to be PvE areas inaccessible to members of the other race, but players have been using bugs and exploits to access these areas. Outside of the starting outposts and regions, the map itself was full, unrestricted 24/7 PvPvE.

Bases[]

Compared to Katalam this region features an additional 13 bases (mini-outposts) that can be captured to unlock weekly quests for Blood Mark <Blood Mark>. They also sell materials used in crafting the map's unique skin set (Tomul/Denku).

Levinshor's bases are split into 4 color-coded "groups", consisting of 3 bases each. The color of the circle around the base on the map (blue, yellow, green and red) indicates the group the base belongs to. The more bases within a group are captured, the more quests and enemy NPCs will appear.

Each "group" of bases has its own series of weekly quests associated with it (max. 3) that can be obtained from any of the bases within group. To complete all 3 quests associated with a group players will need to own all bases of that color group. A base can be captured by defeating the warcaptain/subjugation leader NPCs found in the center.

The base in the center of the map is not associated with any groups, and offers the most benefits. During the 5.0 update this base became a major source of Greater Supplements (Mythic) <Greater Supplements (Mythic)>.

Vocoliths[]

Scattered across Levinshor are various monuments known as Vocoliths. They can be activated with the Ancestor Relics dropped by Shaman/Aquamancer-type NPCs found in the vicinity of allied bases. These monsters will only appear if at least 2 out of the 3 bases in a color group belong to your faction. Once activated a Vocolith will summon an ancient elite-type monsters that, once slain, advances related quests and drops materials used in the creation the map's skin sets.

Center Battle[]

Veille and Mastarius have recovered from their injuries and will battle in the center of the map on specific days each moments, at a select time. The factions can support them in taking down the opposing agent to have a chance at a piece from their agent's unique skin set.

Idian Depths[]

Levinshor had four locations where access portals to the Idian Depths could appear at set times.

Trivia[]

  • In addition to the above perks Levinshor also contained various daily and some hidden bonus (semi)-weekly quests. These quests awarded AP relics, Supplements, and possibly Ceramium Medal <Ceramium Medal>.
  • The daily quests could be obtained from your faction's starting outpost, while the semi-weekly quests could be obtained from NPCs inside the Inggison/Gelkmaros fortresses owned by your faction (2 unique quests per fortress = 8 in total). These quests were later removed following the revamp of the medal system and the collapse of the Inggison/Gelkmaros fortresses.

History[]

The lush land of Levinshor belies a terrible secret, for long ago it was Tiamat’s seat of power prior to her ascension as a dragon lord. It had long been sealed away by a powerful barrier, but with Tiamat’s demise, Beritra was able to dispel the barrier and take control of Levinshor for his own purposes. Specifically, he desired the fruits of the Linkgate Foundry’s research. Seeing Beritra’s troops on the move, the Elyos and Asmodian forces realized the barrier must’ve been removed, and began their own incursions.
