The Genesis Relic, also known as Aion's Relic, is a spherical artifact which contains the power of creating life. It is stored inside The Veilenthrone to prevent it falling in the wrong hands.
Origin[]
Forged by the Jotun of Lakrum, this relic held the enormous power of controlling Aether flow and create life. Aware of the possibility of losing the artifact to anyone with bad intentions, a protected underground temple was erected by the Jotun to seal it away from the rest of the world. Even a protective spell was placed on its shell. There are no known events of the relic ever being used.
Ereshkigal[]
Ereshkigal had sworn vengeance to Fregion, Beritra and the Daevas. Fregion for having defeated her and having her imprisoned in Drakenspire Depths. Beritra for usurping her lands during her absence. And Daevas for their several attempts against herself. Aware of this relic's existence, she would become the strongest being of all, putting an end to all her enemies one by one. Despite its power being meant for creating, she saw as a possibility turning it into a power of destruction.
She is first seen gaining access to The Veilenthrone as the player first arrives to Lakrum. The relic's protection instantly proved to be too powerful even for a Dragon Lord, thus requiring time to research a way to undo it. Having taken control of the temple, Ereshkigal knew the Jotun would seek help from Daevas and expected them to show up eventually. This proved to be convenient as the expedition sent to defeat her could be used in the ritual to claim the artifact as hers. Subdued by her legions, the Daevas' souls were funnelled into the relic, using their life energy to counter its protective spell.
Despite Ereshkigal's plan seemingly coming to fruition, she is pushed against the ropes by the player, forcing her to attempt to use the relic earlier than she had expected. Unfortunately for her, the ritual had not finished yet, causing her attempt to weaken her physical body and allowing the Daevas to put and end to her life.
