Fregion is the emperor of the Dragon Lords, the founder of the Balaur Empire. He is physically and mentally dominant over the other four Lords.

The Balaur Empire[]

He was the first to ascend, and he reached the highest level of awakening. Fregion declared a new age, an age in which the Drakan would not simply govern the Sapiens but rule over them as befit the noble rank of the Drakan. He said that the power of Aion was now within the grasp of every Drakan willing to take it. He proclaimed that the Balaur Empire would last for all eternity, ruled forever by Fregion, first of the immortal Dragon Lords.

He is also the only one who worried that their endless desire for power and their appetite for destruction would eventually drive the Balaur to ruin.

Appearance[]

Fregion

Fregion preparing to unleash a fire attack on the Tower of Eternity

Fregion's exact in-game appearance has not been revealed yet, but previews have appeared on several occasions:

  • In the Project Drakanhammer cutscene (Elyos) his shadow can be seen flying over Theobomos, re-affirming his immense size.
  • In the Aion 5.0 trailer his visage can be seen as he charges up a fire attack while hovering over the Tower of Eternity.

Powers[]

He is the fire dragon, true master of this element. A few of his flames were sufficient to burn the land of Theobomos to ashes, and were still burning strong in some regions (Fregion's Flame area) more than a thousand years later. He destroyed an ancient Petralith as if it was nothing, and is said to have personally destroyed the Tower of Eternity after decimating hordes of the Archdaeva's finest legions with a single attack. He is also shown to be keen, as he was the only being who saw through Israphel's guise and deducted his true intentions.

In the 4.8 update it is revealed that he fought a cataclysmic battle against

<Ereshkigal> in the past, from which he emerged victorious.

Trivia[]

  • In the 5.8 campaign even faint traces of his flames were sufficient to melt the vast, impenetrable wall of permafrost Ereshkigal had erected around Reshanta's Core.
