Dredge

A Dredgion is a powerful weapon built by the Balaur. Although artificial, it shows characteristics of biologic structures in its interior.

Backstory[]

In an effort to destroy the forces of the Elyos and Asmodians, the Five Balaur Lords have sent their Dredgion battleships to wreak havoc within the Abyss. These powerful monstrosities carry weapons that can fire on Daevas who get too close, blasting them from the skies. They also are the troop carriers for the Balaur and carry thousands of Balaur soldiers to drop as they please throughout the Abyss.

During the first encounters with these warmachines, Daevas have even forgot their differences as an attempt to destroy them. However, all attempts failed. As time passed, more information of Dredgions appeared. They found a way to enter them, defeat their captain and destroy them from the inside. Additionally, Dredgions can be destroyed if the small cores on its sides reach 0 HP. The ship will explode, rewarding its defeaters handsomely.

Mechanics[]

Dredgions may spawn during a siege. A global message will appear, warning the ship will slowly fly and eventually reach the vulnerable fortress. Once it stations itself, it deploys hoards of soldiers and a powerful Dredgion Commander, whose objective is to kill the Fortress Guardian and capture the stronghold.

This event is more likely to happen if the faction who controls the fortress holds a higher Influence Ratio than its opposite faction. Dredgions may pop up in any siege.

  • Unlike Gelkmaros, Inggison may suddenly receive a Dredgion outside siege time, always following the same pattern. It first spawns near the Scar Canyon, hovers above Inggison Illusion Fortress and disappears near Undirborg. Players usually refer to it as "Drunk Dredgion", due to its either unknown or nonexistent purpose.
  • All Dredgions who serve Tiamat (Baranath, Chantra, Terath, Zorshiv) are controlled from the Dregdion Command Center inside Tiamat Stronghold.
  • The only sieges in which Dredgions would not spawn were Hearts of Tiamaranta and Panesterra.
