Asmodae: Home of the Asmodians

See Atreia for more information.

Asmodae is the home of the Asmodians. Located in the upper half of the shattered world of Atreia, Asmodae is a dark and frigid world. Largely covered in snow, barren plains, and steep valleys, the hemi-shell also consists of green fields and boreal forests. Upon reaching territories futher from the Tower of Darkness, there are extreme conditions such as arctic tundra and towering glacial ranges. In comparison to the real world, Asmodian geography and climate closely relates to Scandinavia, Canada, and Siberia. Despite not being in direct contact with the nearby star, Asmodae receives reflecting light from Elysea and the Aurora Borealis that fills the sky. More often than not, the planet also receives evening light. Adjusting to the darker conditions, all life in Asmodae continues to adapt and evolve. The rule of the world is that only the fittest and most capable will survive.

Asmodians[]

Asmodians in Beritra Armor

The Asmodian are a race that are located in the darker hemisphere of Atreia. This race, without warmth and light from the sun, evolved into unique forms as they adapted to the cold and dark world they now call home. They follow Azphel, the lord of shadow, and the other four Shedim Lords as they fight against the Elyos for control over the world of Atreia. However, they not only have to beware of the Elyos, the Balaur also await to attack at any moment and destroy all who come near.

The Asmodians, having been thrown into the darker hemisphere, have become well adapted and evolved into their current form. Black wings that are as dark as night, talons and claws that are able to rip and tear their enemies, dark complexions, and a mane. The mane grows from between their shoulder below their neck and runs down their backs. When enraged and engaged in combat, their eyes become a dark crimson glow. The Asmodians resemble the stereotypical "demons".

Although the Asmodians and Elyos are on separate hemispheres they share the same origins. Before the Millennium Wars the two races coincided harmoniously with the world protecting The Tower of Eternity. During the war the two races were split as the Tower of Eternity was destroyed, both being plunged into separate hemispheres of Atria. Now with the two races split they are fighting for control, turning on each other and blaming the other race. With this new found blame each race has sworn revenge on the other and will fight to the death to gain control and take back their world. With the demise of the Tower, the two races are now sworn enemies....Will there ever be peace again?

Insight[]

The Asmodians, despite Elyos propaganda did not completely loose their Ancient Atreian identity. Indeed, much more was split in half after the Cataclysm; both races lost something. While the Elyos look physically more like the Ancient Atreians, the Asmodians are more similar to the Ancient Atreians in psychology and spirituality. The Elyos have gotten disconnected from their past origins and have gotten arrogant and weak. The Asmodians on the other hand are more connected with their past and people; they are brave, mutualistic, unwavering, and accepting.

The Asmodians are adamant with their core goal, and that is: to unleash vengeance on the cowards that casted them away into darkness and despair. Which is reasonable. How dare the Elyos live in bliss and plenty; while the Asmodians struggle to survive with little?

Current State of Asmodae (After 2.0)[]

Taming and conquering their world was only the first step in returning what rightfully belongs to the Asmodians. The long term damage left by the Cataclysm gave the Asmodians the task of repairing and restructuring Asmodae. Left with barren land, the farmers needed to find ways to making the land fertile. The key to transforming barren land into crop yielding land lied with the Skurv. As researchers and scholars discovered ways to replicating the Skurv's secret, Asmodians in the meantime have resorted to hunting and stealing from enemy races. It is only a matter of time until Asmodae sees a bloom of verdant and lush landscapes once again. The valient efforts of Brigade Generals and the Asmodian player have saved the world from contamination and conquest of enemy races. The likes of the Bakarma Legion, Mist Mane Mau, and Undead Contamination are but memories in the back of Asmodian textbooks. The looming threat of Hellion is no more, and the Asmodian military continues to reform and advance. As Lephar sets his sights towards Balaurea aswell, the Asmodian lepharists disband and fall apart. A new era is upon Asmodae, and for once, the Asmodians can look towards the future.

Outer Reaches of Asmodae[]

AtreiaSpace

Atreia from space

Although most of the Asmodian story takes place close to the Tower of Darkness and Pandaemonium, it is unclear if the outer reaches of Asmodae will be revealed. Appearing relatively green from afar, majority of Asmodae seems to be under well kept control from either Asmodians or the Mau. The source of Asmodae's food and resources are probably beyond what is currently explorable. Located far away from Pandaemonium, it can be spectated that there are other major cities. There definately has to be other continents. (Wonder how it is like when you are at the very edge of Asmodae).

Regions of Asmodae []

  • Pandaemonium - Capital city of Asmodae. It is located on an island west of Altgard and south of Morheim. Home to Daevas, and pilgrims alike; a city of secrets and whispers.
  • Pernon - Place of residence to several humans and Daevas alike, located at the base of the mountain range Pandaemonium is located on.
  • Ishalgen - A large island in the south of Altgard. It is the starting region for the Asmodian, until ascension. (Levels 1-10)
  • Altgard - (now removed) Altgard is the southernmost region of the main continent, containing many breathtaking scenery. It is one of the greenest places in Asmodae. (Level 10-20)
  • Morheim - (now removed) The westernmost region on the main continent, from frozen fortress to blazing desert, volcanic lands to verdant oasis's, Morheim is a study in contrasts. (Levels 20-40)
  • Beluslan - North-central region on the main continent of Asmodae. A land plagued by freezing climates, barren plains, and vicious scale heads. (Levels 30-50)
  • Brusthonin - (now removed) This island is located west of Morheim. A former breadbasket with untold beauty, the land is now plagued with undead and famine. (Levels 21-50)
  • Norsvold - (now removed) Located directly in the base of the Tower of Darkness. Preserved by Siel's spell, the lush forests of this region hold deceiving and mysterious creatures. (Levels 66-75)
